These custom leather menu covers were made by Mureli Workshop as part of a real order for Sweet Grass Tavern. For this project, we created a coordinated set of restaurant accessories, including menu covers and matching leather check presenters featuring the same logo and visual style.

The character of the Sweet Grass Tavern logo — featuring a moose and mountain landscape — works naturally with brown Crazy Horse leather. This combination makes the design especially suitable for taverns, lodge restaurants, rustic restaurants, mountain restaurants, steakhouses, country restaurants, bars and other hospitality venues where wood, stone, natural materials and warm tones are part of the interior.

Substantial Two-Layer Leather Construction

The menu cover is made from two layers of genuine leather, each approximately 1.5 mm thick. This substantial construction gives the cover enough structure to hold its shape even with its long 12.2-inch format.

It also gives the menu folder noticeable weight in the hand, creating a solid, substantial feel that works especially well for restaurants looking for something more substantial than a lightweight menu sleeve.

Brown Crazy Horse Leather

We use Crazy Horse leather, known for its naturally varied tone and the way its surface develops additional character with use. Slight changes in shade, natural marks and variations in texture are part of the leather rather than defects.

Custom Logo Personalization

For the Sweet Grass Tavern project, we used blind embossing, pressing the venue logo directly into the leather without foil. The branding remains clearly visible while retaining a restrained appearance that complements rustic, lodge and tavern interiors.

For new orders, we can produce the cover in other leather colors and adapt the personalization for your venue. A restaurant logo, business name or custom graphic can be added to the cover. Depending on the artwork and leather, personalization may be created using blind embossing, foil embossing or laser engraving.

Elastic Cord Menu Binding

The menu is held inside the cover with a simple elastic cord binding system. Printed sheets can therefore be removed and replaced without taking apart a complicated mechanism. This makes the format especially practical for seasonal menus and beverage lists that change regularly.

The folded pages are secured along the center of the cover by the elastic cord.

Designed for Restaurant & Bar Menus

This format can be used for more than a main restaurant menu. It works especially well for cocktail menus, bar menus, wine lists, whiskey menus, beer lists, steakhouse menus, lodge dining menus and seasonal restaurant menus.

Together, the menu covers and check presenters can create a coordinated set of branded restaurant accessories from the presentation of the menu through the final bill.

Please note: printed menus and paper inserts shown in the photographs are for demonstration purposes and are not included unless specifically agreed upon.

We use top-grain calf leather and carefully select it for each type of product. Where strength and structural stability are needed, we choose denser sections of the leather. Where elasticity, softness, and a more natural texture matter, we use more flexible parts of the material.

For example, we cut leather desk pads along the upper line of the hide, which is usually flatter and more even. Rolls, on the other hand, are cut along the lower line of the hide, which is more elastic and often has a more interesting natural texture. This approach allows us to combine aesthetics, functionality, and durability in the right way.

For corporate orders, we can also offer a wider range of calf leather depending on the requirements of a particular project and the needs of the brand.

Since leather is a natural material, each product has its own unique characteristics. The shade, texture, density, and surface character may vary slightly from what you see in the photos. This is part of the value of genuine leather — every изделие preserves the living character of the material and its natural uniqueness.

Any personalization shown in the photos in our listings, including logos, names, initials, or text, is provided for demonstration purposes only. In many cases, we can complete laser engraving directly at the warehouse and ship the order on the same day, so this usually does not affect the dispatch time. If embossing with a metal die is required, the work is completed in our workshop in Ukraine, so delivery usually takes about 9 days instead of 1–3 days for orders shipped from our warehouse in the USA.

If the personalization includes the customer’s logo, our designer first prepares a digital mockup for approval. For wholesale and corporate orders, we also produce the first item from the batch as a sample, approve it separately, and only after the second approval do we proceed with the full production run.

If the order is shipped from Ukraine, we independently pay all customs duties and mandatory charges regardless of the destination country, so the customer does not face additional costs or difficulties when receiving the parcel.
