This leather portfolio was created by Mureli Workshop as a custom project for one of our clients. The goal was to make more than a simple notepad cover — we designed a complete working organizer that keeps a Legal Pad, documents, cards, a tablet and a pen together in one professional portfolio.

For this project, we used wheat-colored Crazy Horse leather. It has a warm, light tone that can appear golden yellow or honey-colored depending on the lighting. The characteristic Crazy Horse texture gives every piece its own appearance, and natural marks and patina gradually develop as the leather is used.

The front of this portfolio was personalized with the client's own custom design. We reproduced the customer's personal crest and incorporated their name into the crest composition. It is a good example of how individual this portfolio can be made.

Designed for a Legal Pad 8.5 × 11.75"

The right side of the portfolio is specifically designed for a standard 8.5 × 11.75" Legal Pad.

The top of the notepad slides into a dedicated horizontal holder, keeping the Legal Pad securely positioned while leaving the writing surface fully accessible.

The Legal Pad can be easily removed and replaced when needed.

Left-Side Organization

The left side of the portfolio is designed as a multifunctional business organizer.

It includes:

• A large open compartment for a tablet, documents, passport or papers
• A concealed document pocket
• Separate smaller pockets for business or credit cards
• Additional space for notes, letters, envelopes and other small documents

Depending on the dimensions of your device, the compartment can also accommodate a compact tablet.

This layout is especially practical for business meetings, client appointments, negotiations, conferences and travel, when your essential working materials need to stay organized in one place.

Pen Holder

A dedicated leather pen loop is positioned in the center of the portfolio.

This keeps your pen directly beside the writing pad so it is easy to access during meetings or note-taking.

Portfolio Closure

The portfolio closes with a leather strap and metal stud closure.

This design helps keep the portfolio securely closed while carrying it and complements its classic professional appearance.

The internal layout provides enough space for the notepad while maintaining the practical organization of the additional pockets.

Crazy Horse Leather

This custom project was made from wheat-colored Crazy Horse leather.

One of the distinctive features of this leather is the way its surface naturally changes with use. Areas that bend or receive frequent contact may become slightly lighter, gradually developing an individual patina.

Because of these natural characteristics, no two pieces of Crazy Horse leather will look exactly the same.

The Legal Pad, pen, tablet, cards, documents and other accessories shown in the photographs are used to demonstrate the portfolio's functionality and are not included.

We use top-grain calf leather and carefully select it for each type of product. Where strength and structural stability are needed, we choose denser sections of the leather. Where elasticity, softness, and a more natural texture matter, we use more flexible parts of the material.

For example, we cut leather desk pads along the upper line of the hide, which is usually flatter and more even. Rolls, on the other hand, are cut along the lower line of the hide, which is more elastic and often has a more interesting natural texture. This approach allows us to combine aesthetics, functionality, and durability in the right way.

For corporate orders, we can also offer a wider range of calf leather depending on the requirements of a particular project and the needs of the brand.

Since leather is a natural material, each product has its own unique characteristics. The shade, texture, density, and surface character may vary slightly from what you see in the photos. This is part of the value of genuine leather — every изделие preserves the living character of the material and its natural uniqueness.

Any personalization shown in the photos in our listings, including logos, names, initials, or text, is provided for demonstration purposes only. By default, we sell our products without personalization. If you would like to add your own logo, name, or text, please leave your request in the Comment field during checkout.

In many cases, we can complete laser engraving directly at the warehouse and ship the order on the same day, so this usually does not affect the dispatch time. If embossing with a metal die is required, the work is completed in our workshop in Ukraine, so delivery usually takes about 9 days instead of 1–3 days for orders shipped from our warehouse in the USA.

If the personalization includes the customer’s logo, our designer first prepares a digital mockup for approval. For wholesale and corporate orders, we also produce the first item from the batch as a sample, approve it separately, and only after the second approval do we proceed with the full production run.

If the order is shipped from Ukraine, we independently pay all customs duties and mandatory charges regardless of the destination country, so the customer does not face additional costs or difficulties when receiving the parcel.
