This minimalist black leather guest check folder was created by Mureli Workshop as a real production order for a restaurant.

Unlike bright check presenters with contrasting gold embossing or colorful decorative details, this project is built around a restrained monochrome aesthetic. Black leather is combined with black blind embossing to create a subtle tone-on-tone, or black-on-black, effect.

The logo does not attract attention through color. Instead, it becomes visible through relief, light, and shadow, making the branding feel like a natural part of the leather surface itself.

Minimalist Guest Check Presentation

A guest check folder is used during the final stage of restaurant service, when the bill is presented to the guest.

Instead of placing a paper check directly on the table, the restaurant can present it inside a compact leather folder designed to hold:

The interior pocket has a smooth curved shape that helps keep the contents securely positioned inside the folder.

Paper bills, payment cards, cash, and any other items that may appear in product demonstrations are not included.

We use top-grain calf leather and carefully select it for each type of product. Where strength and structural stability are needed, we choose denser sections of the leather. Where elasticity, softness, and a more natural texture matter, we use more flexible parts of the material.

For example, we cut leather desk pads along the upper line of the hide, which is usually flatter and more even. Rolls, on the other hand, are cut along the lower line of the hide, which is more elastic and often has a more interesting natural texture. This approach allows us to combine aesthetics, functionality, and durability in the right way.

For corporate orders, we can also offer a wider range of calf leather depending on the requirements of a particular project and the needs of the brand.

Since leather is a natural material, each product has its own unique characteristics. The shade, texture, density, and surface character may vary slightly from what you see in the photos. This is part of the value of genuine leather — every изделие preserves the living character of the material and its natural uniqueness.

Any personalization shown in the photos in our listings, including logos, names, initials, or text, is provided for demonstration purposes only. In many cases, we can complete laser engraving directly at the warehouse and ship the order on the same day, so this usually does not affect the dispatch time. If embossing with a metal die is required, the work is completed in our workshop in Ukraine, so delivery usually takes about 9 days instead of 1–3 days for orders shipped from our warehouse in the USA.

If the personalization includes the customer’s logo, our designer first prepares a digital mockup for approval. For wholesale and corporate orders, we also produce the first item from the batch as a sample, approve it separately, and only after the second approval do we proceed with the full production run.

If the order is shipped from Ukraine, we independently pay all customs duties and mandatory charges regardless of the destination country, so the customer does not face additional costs or difficulties when receiving the parcel.
