Product Info

These bright red leather binders were created by Mureli Workshop as a large custom project for members of Indian Harbor Yacht Club.

The front cover features the club name, its emblem, and the title "The Log." In this version, the binder becomes more than simply a cover for printed pages. It can become part of the club culture - a physical edition designed for member materials, sailing records, seasonal history, and club archives.

The photographs show not a single demonstration sample, but a coordinated series of binders produced for a real client order.

Real Project for Indian Harbor Yacht Club

Indian Harbor Yacht Club is located in Greenwich, Connecticut, on Rocky Neck Point along Long Island Sound.

The club was founded in 1889 and has a long history connected with sailing, seamanship, racing, cruising, and a community of people united by their connection to the water.

In this context, a personalized The Log binder takes on a special character. It can become more than an organizer - it can serve as a physical part of club tradition, an edition that a member receives, uses, keeps on a shelf, and gradually fills with new materials over time.

Yacht Club Member Logbook

This model can be used as a club logbook or member binder for materials that need to be kept together in one organized format.

Depending on the purpose of the project, the binder can be organized for:

  • sailing records
  • cruising notes
  • regatta results
  • race schedules
  • fleet information
  • member materials
  • club rules and procedures
  • annual reports
  • event programs
  • committee documents
  • training and seamanship materials
  • photographs
  • awards and certificates
  • historical records
  • printed club publications
  • plastic page protectors with additional materials

The title and structure of each section can be adapted for a specific yacht club, sailing association, marina, or regatta organizer.

An Archive That Can Be Updated Every Year

Unlike a book with fixed pages, a ring binder allows the contents to be updated regularly.

At the end of each season, race results, photographs, cruising notes, club events, new member information, awards, or other materials can be added.

Pages can be:

  • added
  • removed
  • rearranged
  • organized by year
  • sorted by regatta
  • grouped by document type
  • replaced with updated versions
  • stored inside plastic page protectors

One binder can be dedicated to a specific year, a particular regatta, a fleet, a committee, or the complete history of a specific club program.

3-Ring Mechanism

The binder is equipped with a 3-ring mechanism.

This construction allows the use of replaceable pages, dividers, and compatible plastic page protectors.

The rings can be opened to add new materials and closed again once the desired archive structure has been arranged.

This allows a club member or administrator to expand the contents over time rather than being limited by the original number of pages.

Bright Red Leather

Bright red leather was selected for this completed custom project.

The color gives the binder a distinctive and recognizable appearance and makes it easy to identify on a shelf among standard office documents.

The red exterior is paired with a light interior leather surface and dark personalization on the front cover.

Natural variations in tone, changes in the surface, and the individual character of the leather make every piece slightly different, even when the binders are produced as part of the same series.

For a new project, another leather color can be selected to coordinate with a club emblem, flag, clubhouse interior, or visual identity.

Custom Club Crest and Title

The photographs show personalization created for a specific client: the Indian Harbor Yacht Club name, the club emblem, and the title "The Log."

Examples shown are for demonstration only.

The client name, emblem, and title shown in the photographs belong to the previous client and are not automatically included with a new order.

For a new project, the binder can feature:

  • a yacht club emblem
  • the name of a sailing organization
  • a marina name
  • a regatta emblem
  • the title of an annual publication
  • The Log
  • Sailing Records
  • Cruise Log
  • Regatta Archive
  • Fleet Records
  • Club History
  • Member Directory
  • the name of a specific season
  • a club member's name
  • a yacht name
  • a year or volume number
  • another custom design

The binder can also be ordered without personalization.

Front Cover and Spine Personalization

By arrangement, personalization can be placed not only on the front cover but also on the spine.

The front cover can feature the club emblem and publication title, while the spine can include:

  • club name
  • year
  • volume number
  • owner's name
  • yacht name
  • regatta name
  • archive section title

Spine personalization is especially useful when several binders are stored vertically on a shelf.

It allows a specific year, season, or section to be identified without removing the entire set from the shelf.

Custom Embossing Die

A separate physical embossing die can be created to reproduce an individual emblem.

After the first production run is completed, the client's die can be retained for future repeat orders.

This is especially useful if the club later plans to:

  • order additional binders for new members
  • create a new annual edition
  • replace individual binders
  • prepare binders for another committee
  • create a new series for another regatta
  • order other leather products featuring the same emblem

An embossing die created for one client's custom design is not used for orders from other customers.

Member Gift and Commemorative Edition

A personalized yacht club logbook can be used not only as a working binder.

It can also become a commemorative gift for:

  • a new club member
  • a commodore
  • a race committee member
  • a regatta winner
  • a coach
  • a long-standing club member
  • a participant in an anniversary event
  • an honored guest
  • members of a specific fleet or team

The binder can be prepared with initial materials before presentation, such as club history, photographs, rules, race calendars, club contacts, or commemorative pages.

In this form, it becomes more than an empty binder and can serve as a complete member presentation set.

For Yacht Clubs, Marinas and Sailing Organizations

Similar custom leather binders can be created for:

  • yacht clubs
  • sailing clubs
  • marinas
  • boating associations
  • sailing schools
  • race committees
  • regatta organizers
  • cruising clubs
  • ocean racing teams
  • private clubs
  • coastal communities
  • historical sailing societies
  • yacht club foundations

For each project, the leather color, size, internal mechanism, publication title, emblem placement, and order quantity can be customized.

Series Production for Club Members

This completed project demonstrates our ability to produce not only individual personalized binders but also coordinated series for clubs and organizations.

Within one production run, we can maintain:

  • consistent leather color
  • consistent proportions
  • uniform emblem placement
  • coordinated personalization scale
  • the same ring mechanism
  • consistent production quality
  • a unified appearance across the entire series

If required, individual binders within the same production run can also be personalized with member names, yacht names, years, or specific positions.

Volume Pricing may be available for larger quantities.

Top-Grain Calf Leather

We use top-grain calf leather and carefully select it for each type of product. Where strength and structural stability are needed, we choose denser sections of the leather. Where elasticity, softness, and a more natural texture matter, we use more flexible parts of the material.

For example, we cut leather desk pads along the upper line of the hide, which is usually flatter and more even. Rolls, on the other hand, are cut along the lower line of the hide, which is more elastic and often has a more interesting natural texture. This approach allows us to combine aesthetics, functionality, and durability in the right way.

For corporate orders, we can also offer a wider range of calf leather depending on the requirements of a particular project and the needs of the brand.

Since leather is a natural material, each product has its own unique characteristics. The shade, texture, density, and surface character may vary slightly from what you see in the photos. This is part of the value of genuine leather — every изделие preserves the living character of the material and its natural uniqueness.

Personalization and Branding

Any personalization shown in the photos in our listings, including logos, names, initials, or text, is provided for demonstration purposes only. By default, we sell our products without personalization. If you would like to add your own logo, name, or text, please leave your request in the Comment field during checkout.

In many cases, we can complete laser engraving directly at the warehouse and ship the order on the same day, so this usually does not affect the dispatch time. If embossing with a metal die is required, the work is completed in our workshop in Ukraine, so delivery usually takes about 9 days instead of 1–3 days for orders shipped from our warehouse in the USA.

If the personalization includes the customer’s logo, our designer first prepares a digital mockup for approval. For wholesale and corporate orders, we also produce the first item from the batch as a sample, approve it separately, and only after the second approval do we proceed with the full production run.

If the order is shipped from Ukraine, we independently pay all customs duties and mandatory charges regardless of the destination country, so the customer does not face additional costs or difficulties when receiving the parcel.

Leather Selection

Matched by Experience

I work only with trusted suppliers and personally review leather before it becomes part of a product. Some hides are better for structure and firmness, while others are better for flexibility and a more expressive natural texture. This experience helps me choose the right material for the right purpose, and that decision matters in every finished piece.
