This custom leather guest information folio is a new hospitality project currently in development at Mureli Workshop. The client created an AI reference image to show the concept, colors, pocket layout and overall style they would like us to turn into a real physical product.

Our task is to develop the construction from that visual reference, select the right leather, make samples, build and test a prototype, receive the client’s approval and only then prepare the tooling required for final production.

Custom Leather Guest Folio Developed from an AI Concept

The planned folio will measure approximately 6¼ × 8 in / 16 × 20.3 cm when closed and will include seven curved, overlapping pockets for removable guest information cards. The design is intended for a private hospitality property, but the same development process can be adapted for hotels, resorts, lodges, ranches, boutique hotels and other hospitality brands.

This is an example of how we can take a client’s sketch, reference image or AI-generated concept and develop it into a practical custom leather folio for a hotel or resort.

Leather Selection, Colors & Samples

The project calls for soft, flexible fine-pebbled leather approximately 1–1.5 mm thick. The planned colors are Saddle Tan / Sand, Sage Green, Terracotta / Adobe and Dusty Blue. We will select suitable leather based on color, texture, thickness and flexibility, then prepare or approve material samples before the main construction is finalized.

Prototype Before Production

After the leather is selected, we will make the first prototype. This stage will allow us to verify the folio size, pocket shape, spacing, card fit, stitching, thickness, logo position and overall proportions. The client will receive detailed photos or video for approval, and any necessary adjustments will be made before the remaining folios are produced.

The removable cards are planned at approximately 5½ × 4 in / 14 × 10 cm. Final card and pocket dimensions will be confirmed only after the prototype has been tested.

Custom Branding & Hospitality Use

The finished folios are planned with a dark, clearly visible logo on the front cover. The final branding method will be selected after testing the chosen leather and artwork. For other projects, logo size, placement and application can be adapted to the property’s visual identity.

A hotel guest information folder like this can hold removable cards for room or casita information, Wi-Fi details, dining, property services, local recommendations, check-in or check-out instructions and other guest information. Because the cards are removable, the content can be updated without replacing the leather folio itself.

From Prototype to Custom Cutting Dies

We will not order cutting dies at the beginning. First, the prototype must be approved. Once the final pocket shapes, dimensions and construction are confirmed, we can order custom cutting dies so the same parts can be reproduced consistently during production and future repeat orders.

Custom Hospitality Leather Goods

This project demonstrates the type of custom hospitality leather goods Mureli Workshop can develop from an initial idea. We can adapt the size, pocket layout, card format, leather colors and branding for hotels, resorts, private retreats, lodges, ranches, guest houses, private clubs and other hospitality businesses.

This project is currently in development, and we will document the journey from the client’s AI concept and leather selection to prototype approval and final production.

We use top-grain calf leather and carefully select it for each type of product. Where strength and structural stability are needed, we choose denser sections of the leather. Where elasticity, softness, and a more natural texture matter, we use more flexible parts of the material.

For example, we cut leather desk pads along the upper line of the hide, which is usually flatter and more even. Rolls, on the other hand, are cut along the lower line of the hide, which is more elastic and often has a more interesting natural texture. This approach allows us to combine aesthetics, functionality, and durability in the right way.

For corporate orders, we can also offer a wider range of calf leather depending on the requirements of a particular project and the needs of the brand.

Since leather is a natural material, each product has its own unique characteristics. The shade, texture, density, and surface character may vary slightly from what you see in the photos. This is part of the value of genuine leather — every изделие preserves the living character of the material and its natural uniqueness.

Any personalization shown in the photos in our listings, including logos, names, initials, or text, is provided for demonstration purposes only. In many cases, we can complete laser engraving directly at the warehouse and ship the order on the same day, so this usually does not affect the dispatch time. If embossing with a metal die is required, the work is completed in our workshop in Ukraine, so delivery usually takes about 9 days instead of 1–3 days for orders shipped from our warehouse in the USA.

If the personalization includes the customer’s logo, our designer first prepares a digital mockup for approval. For wholesale and corporate orders, we also produce the first item from the batch as a sample, approve it separately, and only after the second approval do we proceed with the full production run.

If the order is shipped from Ukraine, we independently pay all customs duties and mandatory charges regardless of the destination country, so the customer does not face additional costs or difficulties when receiving the parcel.
