A Wine Menu Cover That Introduces Your Brand Before the First Page
Mureli Workshop created these black leather menu covers for Stoker Wines, a wine brand based in Ceptura, Romania, in the Dealu Mare wine region. The project combines a simple single-layer construction with distinctive cover branding: a logo applied in two colors.
Against the black leather, the red STOKER lettering and the light-colored WINES lettering create a clear contrast. Rather than adding extra decoration, the design keeps the focus on the logo itself — its typography, artwork, and color combination.
This format can be used for a wine list, a tasting menu, or a presentation of a wine collection. It is particularly suited to wineries and tasting rooms that want to carry their visual identity through to the materials their guests handle.
Two Colors — Two Separate Stamping Stages
The distinctive feature of this project is the sequential application of two parts of the same logo.
To produce these covers, we divided the logo into two separate stamping dies. We applied the first color, then the second, aligning the two impressions to create a single composition.
This allowed us to retain the two-color logo rather than convert it into a monochrome version. For a brand whose colors are an important part of its visual identity, this detail can make a difference: the cover preserves not only the name, but also its distinctive presentation.
A similar approach can be considered for your own logo. The suitability of the artwork for two separate dies and the color combination are confirmed after reviewing your design.
A Single Layer of Genuine Leather
The cover is made from a single layer of genuine leather. The exterior has a smooth black surface, while the interior reveals the suede-textured reverse of the same leather. It is not a separate fabric lining.
The version shown has no decorative perimeter stitching. Clean edges, rounded corners, and an uncluttered interior keep the focus on the material and branding.
Rather than a bulky, multilayer cover, this is a flexible leather folder designed to hold a replaceable printed menu.
Dimensions and Paper Format
The cover is designed for a standard US Letter sheet — 8.5 × 11 in / 216 × 279 mm, folded in half to 8.5 × 5.5 in / 216 × 140 mm. Inside the cover, the folded page sits in portrait orientation: approximately 140 mm wide and 216 mm tall.
| Specification | Dimensions |
|---|---|
| Closed cover, width × height | 152 × 250 mm |
| Open cover, width × height | 310 × 250 mm |
| Paper before folding | 8.5 × 11 in / 216 × 279 mm |
| Paper after folding | 8.5 × 5.5 in / 216 × 140 mm |
Dimensions are based on the size guide. This format is designed for folded US Letter paper, not a full-size A4 sheet.
Update Your Menu, Keep the Same Cover
The printed insert is held in place by an elastic cord along the central fold. To update the menu, remove the previous insert and slide the new one beneath the cord. There is no ring or screw-post binding mechanism.
This is convenient for wine lists and tasting menus: you can update the wine selection, vintages, prices, or tasting sequence without ordering new leather covers.
The printed insert shown in the photos is a demonstration. It illustrates how the paper fits inside the cover and does not represent the Stoker Wines selection.
For Wine Tastings and Collection Presentations
This model offers more than a conventional restaurant menu presentation. It can hold winery tasting menus, curated wine selections with short descriptions, a wine bar menu, or a collection presentation for guests and business partners.
For example, the insert can include a tasting sequence, descriptions of individual wines, food-pairing suggestions, and information about available bottles. For another event, simply prepare a new insert — the cover retains the brand’s recognizable presentation.
Two-color stamping can also be considered for restaurants, hotels, and other venues whose logos feature two distinct color elements that they wish to preserve.
Your Own Logo on the Cover
The covers in the photos are an example of a completed custom project by Mureli Workshop for Stoker Wines. The client’s logo is shown to demonstrate our work and is not the standard design for other orders.
For your own project, send us your logo and preferred color combination. We will review how the artwork can be separated for sequential stamping and positioned on the cover.
This version combines black single-layer leather, two-color logo stamping, and an elastic cord for replaceable menu inserts.
Top-Grain Calf Leather
We use top-grain calf leather and carefully select it for each type of product. Where strength and structural stability are needed, we choose denser sections of the leather. Where elasticity, softness, and a more natural texture matter, we use more flexible parts of the material.
For example, we cut leather desk pads along the upper line of the hide, which is usually flatter and more even. Rolls, on the other hand, are cut along the lower line of the hide, which is more elastic and often has a more interesting natural texture. This approach allows us to combine aesthetics, functionality, and durability in the right way.
For corporate orders, we can also offer a wider range of calf leather depending on the requirements of a particular project and the needs of the brand.
Since leather is a natural material, each product has its own unique characteristics. The shade, texture, density, and surface character may vary slightly from what you see in the photos. This is part of the value of genuine leather — every изделие preserves the living character of the material and its natural uniqueness.
Personalization and Branding
Any personalization shown in the photos in our listings, including logos, names, initials, or text, is provided for demonstration purposes only. By default, we sell our products without personalization. If you would like to add your own logo, name, or text, please leave your request in the Comment field during checkout.
In many cases, we can complete laser engraving directly at the warehouse and ship the order on the same day, so this usually does not affect the dispatch time. If embossing with a metal die is required, the work is completed in our workshop in Ukraine, so delivery usually takes about 9 days instead of 1–3 days for orders shipped from our warehouse in the USA.
If the personalization includes the customer’s logo, our designer first prepares a digital mockup for approval. For wholesale and corporate orders, we also produce the first item from the batch as a sample, approve it separately, and only after the second approval do we proceed with the full production run.
If the order is shipped from Ukraine, we independently pay all customs duties and mandatory charges regardless of the destination country, so the customer does not face additional costs or difficulties when receiving the parcel.
* We offer personalization for individual and corporate orders.
Personalization and Branding
Leather Selection
I work only with trusted suppliers and personally review leather before it becomes part of a product. Some hides are better for structure and firmness, while others are better for flexibility and a more expressive natural texture. This experience helps me choose the right material for the right purpose, and that decision matters in every finished piece.
