This leather sketchbook organizer began as a custom request from one of our customers.

They liked one of our existing A5 artist organizers but asked us to rethink the interior for the specific tools they actually carry: no zippers anywhere, wider open pockets, and several roomier tool slots that could comfortably hold more than standard pencils.

We liked the idea enough to treat the project as a small collaborative product-development experiment rather than simply charging for a one-off modification. The result worked so well that we decided to add this version to our permanent artist collection.

Designed Around Real Artist Tools

The main difference in this version is the interior organization.

The customer specifically needed extra room for a Faber-Castell putty eraser in its plastic case, a pen knife, thicker plastic spare-lead tubes for mechanical pencils, regular 2B pencils and other compact drawing accessories.

To make this possible, we widened the left-side open storage areas and made several of the tool holders more generous than on our standard version. The result is a more flexible interior that can handle both traditional pencils and bulkier everyday artist supplies.

Completely Zipper-Free Construction

This model is intentionally designed without zippers, inside or outside.

Instead of enclosed zippered compartments, the organizer uses open leather pockets, flexible holders and a snap-closure accessory pocket. This keeps the construction visually clean and makes frequently used tools easier to reach while sketching, traveling or working away from the studio.

For A5 & 8.5 × 5.5 in Sketchbooks

The organizer is designed for A5 and approximately 8.5 × 5.5 in sketchbooks, notebooks and journals.

Its sketchbook fixation system can be adjusted for both portrait and landscape orientation, allowing the same organizer to work with vertical notebooks for notes, figure studies or journaling and horizontal sketchbooks for travel sketches, urban drawing and wider compositions.

Expanded Pencil & Tool Storage

The interior combines dedicated pencil holders with larger open pockets for accessories that do not fit comfortably into narrow standard loops.

It can be used for graphite pencils, colored pencils, mechanical pencils, spare lead tubes, erasers, sharpeners, compact knives and other compatible drawing or writing tools.

The purpose of this layout is not to dictate a fixed artist kit, but to give the owner enough flexibility to build a compact setup around the tools they actually use.

Complimentary Sketchbook & 12 Pencils

The organizer is supplied with an A5 spiral sketchbook and 12 colored pencils as complimentary gifts.

These items are not the main value of the product and are not included as separately priced components. They are simply provided so the organizer can be used immediately. Later, they can be replaced with the owner's preferred compatible A5 or 8.5 × 5.5 in sketchbook and drawing tools.

Personalized Leather Name Tag

The leather name tag shown in the photos is optional.

A personalized tag can be added on request through the personalization form when placing the order. It can be customized with a name, initials or other approved short text.

If personalization is not selected, the organizer can be produced without the personalized tag.

Made for Travel, Sketching & Everyday Creative Work

This organizer is designed for artists, illustrators, designers, art students, writers and creative travelers who want a compact leather system for keeping a sketchbook and essential tools together.

It is especially useful for urban sketching, travel drawing, art classes, journaling, creative planning and everyday sketching when carrying a large artist bag would be unnecessary.

A Design Developed Together with a Customer

We regularly receive requests to adjust our existing products for individual creative routines. Most remain custom projects, but occasionally a customer's idea improves the original concept enough that we want to keep developing it.

This is one of those cases.

What began as a request for wider pockets, larger tool holders and a fully zipper-free interior became a new version of our A5 and 8.5 × 5.5 leather sketchbook organizer — developed through real use requirements rather than simply changing the appearance of an existing model.

Because genuine leather is a natural material, grain, markings, texture and shade may vary slightly from the photographs. These variations are part of the character of real leather and make each organizer slightly individual.

We use top-grain calf leather and carefully select it for each type of product. Where strength and structural stability are needed, we choose denser sections of the leather. Where elasticity, softness, and a more natural texture matter, we use more flexible parts of the material.

For example, we cut leather desk pads along the upper line of the hide, which is usually flatter and more even. Rolls, on the other hand, are cut along the lower line of the hide, which is more elastic and often has a more interesting natural texture. This approach allows us to combine aesthetics, functionality, and durability in the right way.

For corporate orders, we can also offer a wider range of calf leather depending on the requirements of a particular project and the needs of the brand.

Since leather is a natural material, each product has its own unique characteristics. The shade, texture, density, and surface character may vary slightly from what you see in the photos. This is part of the value of genuine leather — every изделие preserves the living character of the material and its natural uniqueness.

Any personalization shown in the photos in our listings, including logos, names, initials, or text, is provided for demonstration purposes only. By default, we sell our products without personalization. If you would like to add your own logo, name, or text, please leave your request in the Comment field during checkout.

In many cases, we can complete laser engraving directly at the warehouse and ship the order on the same day, so this usually does not affect the dispatch time. If embossing with a metal die is required, the work is completed in our workshop in Ukraine, so delivery usually takes about 9 days instead of 1–3 days for orders shipped from our warehouse in the USA.

If the personalization includes the customer’s logo, our designer first prepares a digital mockup for approval. For wholesale and corporate orders, we also produce the first item from the batch as a sample, approve it separately, and only after the second approval do we proceed with the full production run.

If the order is shipped from Ukraine, we independently pay all customs duties and mandatory charges regardless of the destination country, so the customer does not face additional costs or difficulties when receiving the parcel.
